Fred Youngblood, Jr., a retired engineer, was elected to the Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Education in November 2004. Mr. Youngblood worked for The Boeing Company in Integrated Test Planning and Control and during his career received numerous accommodations and awards from the United States Air Force, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), including being nominated for Engineer of the Year in 1994. Two of the many projects he worked on include the Space Radar Laboratory and the Orbiter Docking System. He was inducted in to the Boeing Technical Fellowship Program in 1997 which he likens to being named a franchise player for a sports team. Mr. Youngblood is married to Ella and has three children. Two of his children graduated from the school district.  He served as president of the Citizens for Kids Educational Foundation and chairperson of the Rolling Ridge Elementary School and Canyon Hills Junior High School Site Councils. Mr. Youngblood has coached youth sports in Chino Hills as well as football and girls basketball at Ayala High School. He is active at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ontario where he teaches Sunday school, is a member of the Board of Deacons, and a member elect of the Board of Trustees.
